I suppose that should say “a little about me” as I am very much a one-woman show (with help from my husband when the support structures venture in to the world of actual carpentry!). Having had several different vocations, (from head science technician to theatrical wardrobe mistress and latterly managing a care home for adults with autism) in 2018 I decided to turn my baking hobby in to my baking business and I haven't looked back since. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer the following year, my baking and sugar art helped me to stay focussed on life’s positives and now, even through Covid, it still does. My business was heavily affected by Covid, seeing 12 months of orders wiped out within a few weeks and even now times are still uncertain. Quality home baked cakes with a real wow factor take time and skill to make. Prices are based on costs plus the time the it takes to create each design.
Prices start at £100 for a tall, 6” round cake (8” round from £120) with simple decoration.
Cakes with sugar flowers and models are priced according to complexity. Floral arrangements (fully edible sugar-work) are very popular and are priced from £120.
Small carved animals (eg sleeping fox) start at £130 to serve 12, larger carved animals from £200 and serve 25 portions and up.
Structured cakes, standing animals, and gravity defying cakes start at £300

All cakes are home made to order, multi layered with buttercream, and covered with either white or dark chocolate ganache under fondant or modelling chocolate. They are presented either boxed or cellophane wrapped on a decorated board with a message of your choice.
Flavours include all of the traditional favourites and many more besides - you ask, we‘ll cake it for you!
A good portion size is 1” x 2” slice of a 4” (or deeper) cake.
For round cakes:
6” gives 12 servings
8” gives 24 servings
10” gives 38 servings
12” gives 54 servings
Larger portions can be achieved with taller and tiered cakes or “double-barrel” cakes are very popular.
Carved cakes can be made to serve as many as you need, from 12 for the smallest carved cakes up to the high hundreds for the really big designs
Three months is a good time to work with but we have made cakes with just 2 days notice (however, working through the night is charged at a higher rate). For both celebration and wedding cakes we do take orders up to 2 years in advance of the date of celebration. All orders are subject to the availability of the calendar but as a home run business, we do focus on quality not quantity so only make 1 or 2 cakes each week.
We want to give you the cake you want so we'll work with you to create a bespoke design that's just right. If you change your mind on design or want to make additions we will accommodate this as best we can but this may involve a charge for the time taken to redesign and any extra time that it will take to decorate the cake.
